Animated Atlas: The Revolutionary War. By telling the story of the Revolutionary War through animated maps, this video makes it possible for the student to grasp the overall structure of this erratic and confusing war. Why was crossing the Delaware the defining moment for George Washington? What is it like to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat? In this video historic events like Valley Forge and Yorktown are placed within a geographic frame of reference and thus they can be understood and remembered. Through the addition of paintings, some partly animated, and live recreation footage, the unfolding story is brought to life. Copyright 1999.
